Mobile Innovation

Mobile JSEA & Take5

AI-powered mobile risk assessment application

Project Overview

AIM developed a mobile-first web application to enable PWCS employees and contractors to create and sign both JSEA (Job Safety and Environment Analysis) and Take5 risk assessments. The app leverages cutting-edge AI technology to provide a seamless user experience with handwriting recognition and speech-to-text functionality.

PWCS utilizes two primary risk assessment methods: Take5 - a simplified, quick assessment suitable for routine tasks with yes/no questions, and JSEA - a detailed, step-by-step analysis breaking down tasks into individual steps with hazard identification and controls.

Challenge

  • Paper-based risk assessment process causing delays and inefficiencies
  • Need for mobile solution accessible in field conditions
  • Support for both quick Take5 and detailed JSEA assessments
  • Digital signature capture for compliance and audit trails

Solution

  • Mobile-first responsive web application
  • AI-powered handwriting-to-text conversion
  • Speech-to-text functionality for hands-free input
  • Digital signature capture and validation
  • Support for both JSEA and Take5 assessment types
